BALLET 

Every little girl wants to be a beautiful ballerina... Right? Right! It's blood, sweat & tears, but it’s definitely worth it for the tutus, diamantes & tiaras. Ballet provides a strong foundation & great discipline for all dancers. It looks easy, but trust us, it's serious work. 

 

PRE-POINTE

For the budding Ballerina, working en pointe is the culmination of years of hard work & training.  Before we get to that point (no pun intended) we need to work on strengthening feet, ankles, legs & core to ensure no damage is done to the body. Pre-Pointe is available to all Ballet students over the age of 11 who have been assessed previously by a SD teacher & deemed ready.

 

BEGINNER/OPEN POINTE

Once students have completed their Pre-Pointe training, it is time to move up into the big league! In this class technique & strength is taught, along with understanding of proper alignment. Beginner & Open Pointe students must be assessed by both their SD teacher & a physiotherapist in order to commence this class. 

 

CONTEMPORARY

It’s like Ballet... But with no rules!! This class is for those who constantly strive to push the limits & break the boundaries. Focusing on creativity & movement, Contemporary is about forgetting the steps & just dancing.

 

LYRICAL

A wonderful class for all students who love to convey a story through their movement, combining lyrical & jazz technique with modern dance concepts to inspire personal artistry.

 

JAZZ

This is a fast paced class for those who aren't afraid to shine. It's all about high kicks, triple pirouettes & spirit fingers. Students will technique & choreography throughout the year. Can we kick it? Yes we can!

 

TAP

Whether it be old style 'Singing in the Rain' tap or the fresh new, uniquely Australian 'Tap Dogs' style tap, there is something for everyone with this style. Great for improving balance, co-ordination & rhythm. The best bit... You get to make as much noise as you want!

HIP HOP

Hip hop is the new kid on the block of the dance world & everyone wants to know about it. It’s the style that you can let loose, ditch the granny ballet music & really move! This class incorporates the latest dance moves with current popular music. It's the coolest kicks, freshest beats, funkiest moves & it's above all else... It's seriously fun.

MUSICAL THEATRE

Do you like to sing, dance, act & have serious fun? Then this class is for you… Seriously!

 

SINGING

If you don’t get enough singing in Musical Theatre & you need more, our Singing classes are for you! Learn fantastic vocal techniques with a professional voice coach & take your singing to the next level.  Also available for private/small group lessons.

 

ACROBATICS/TUMBLING 

Forget triple pirouettes, this class is all about triple somersaults! Improve your flexibility, balance, strength & co-ordination in a spectacular way. This class is the place to be if you want that something extra in your dancing - Those WOW tricks. 

 

CHEERLEADING

Tumbling + stunting x fierce dance moves = FUN! Come & find out why Cheerleading is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia right now! In 2017 teams will be broken into specific age groups & students will be given the opportunity to learn routines & compete at competitions.  Bring it on!

 

KICKS, LEAPS, & TURNS

You kick, you leap, you turn?  What’s not to love?  The perfect class for those students wanting to further their dance repertoire & nail those tricks.

 

SERIOUSLY STRETCH

Get those high kicks higher, those splits longer & those back bends bendier. This class is for students that want to take their flexibility to the next level. This class is an all round stretch class suitable for all students of all ages.  If you want to improve your flexibility then this is the class for you.

 

STRETCH/YOGA 

The body, breath and mind are seen as a union of these multi-dimensional aspects of each and every human being. The system and various techniques of Yoga/Stretch cultivate the experience of that union, leading to greater integration of being & internal peacefulness. Through breathing, stretching & strength work you are able to focus your mind, body & soul on yourself.
